JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Golf Services person to join our Golf Operations team. The ideal candidate will ensure guests enjoy an exceptional golfing experience by providing outstanding service and maintaining the highest standards in golf operations.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

GUEST SERVICES
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in.
  • Provide information about course policies, facilities, and events.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
GOLF CART AND EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
  • Prepare and maintain golf carts for daily use, including cleaning and charging.
  • Assist guests with loading/unloading golf bags and ensure proper storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bag drop and cart staging areas.
PRO SHOP SUPPORT
  • Assist with merchandise sales and inventory management as needed.
  • Promote events to enhance guest experience.
EVENT AND TOURNAMENT ASSISTANCE
  • Support the execution of tournaments, outings, and special events.
  • Ensure timely and accurate setup for events, including signage, carts, and scorecards.
DRIVING RANGE AND PRACTICE FACILITIES
  • Set up and restock the driving range with balls, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Collect, clean, and sort golf balls from the range using appropriate equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition of practice greens, bunkers, and other facilities.
  • Ensure the safety and functionality of all practice equipment.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
  • Perform routine checks to ensure all facilities are safe and in good condition.
  • Communicate any repair or maintenance needs to the Director of Golf or Head Professional.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Position Title: Chef de Partie

JOB SUMMARY:
The Chef de Partie at The Avalon Club is a vital member of our culinary team, responsible for overseeing the general food service of the kitchens and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and execution. This role requires a passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Chef de Partie will collaborate directly with the Managing Director and fellow culinary staff to execute diverse menus that highlight the highest quality ingredients from around the world and local ingredients. This position will highlight your culinary expertise but also provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills. Mentoring junior kitchen staff and maintaining a positive, productive kitchen atmosphere is something you would find rewarding. Additionally, all members of our culinary team will contribute to the club's commitment to excellence and innovation,
ensuring that every dish served reflects “the Avalon standard.”

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food Preparation and Cooking:
  • Receive, organize, prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with the club’s standards and recipes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to “the Avalon standard”: taste, quality, and presentation. 
Section Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the culinary trailer or the range kitchen.
  • Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation and inventory control.
Menu Development:
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to create and refine menus that reflect the best ingredients both internationally and locally.
Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all food items are received, organized, labelled, prepared, and stored according to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily checks of all inventories to ensure proper storage temperatures, food quality, freshness, proper rotation of inventory and portion sizes.
Team Leadership:
  • Train and mentor junior culinary staff, to continue elevating their skills and knowledge. Also ensuring there are opportunities for staff to further grow and develop.
  • Always promoting teamwork and communication within the culinary and services teams, to ensure the Members have a memorable experience.
Inventory Management:
  • Manage inventory levels, including daily inventory of products, proteins, and freezer items.
    • Ordering and receiving supplies as needed. Ensuring that orders are meeting minimums and are accurate.
  • Monitoring and tracking food waste through a daily audit.
    • Ensure all inventory is properly stored, dated, rotated, and portion controlled. 
Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including being a certified food handler and ensuring the highest level of sanitation practices.
  • Maintaining a well-organized environment.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and stored in its designated area.

Position Title: Server

The Server at The Avalon Club is a key member of our hospitality team, dedicated to providing exceptional experiences to our Members and Guests. This role involves welcoming Members and Guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, accurately taking orders, and ensuring prompt and engaging service throughout their experience. The Server will collaborate closely with the culinary team and fellow team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation while adhering to health and safety standards. With a focus on building rapport with Members, the ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to delivering a premium service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant community and contribute to creating memorable moments for our members and guests at The Avalon Club.


CORE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or private club environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine and cocktail offerings.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Member Service:
  • Greet Members and Guests with a warm and welcoming attitude.
  • Provide detailed menu information and recommendations to enhance Guest dining experiences.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, addressing allergies, preferences and ensure prompt delivery and service.
Dining Room (Tent) Management:
  • Set up and maintain the cleanliness of dining areas, including tables, chairs, service stations, bar, and giveaway tables.
  • Ensure tables, high tops, couches, and bars are properly set, upkept for cleanliness, and up to par with “The Avalon Standard”.
  • Monitor all areas for cleanliness, Member/Guest needs, and promptly address accordingly.
Order Fulfillment:
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the culinary team to ensure accurate and prompt food delivery. All orders except for main courses are expected to be “up and out” in under 15 minutes.
  • Serve food and beverages with attention to presentation, ensuring the highest quality.
  • Process Members’ accounts accurately and efficiently using the Club’s Point-of-Sale system.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with fellow Staff to ensure a smooth service, always keeping in mind “The Avalon Standard”.
  • Assist in mentoring and training new Staff, when required.
  • Take part in pre-shift meetings to review or discuss the reservation list, Member special requests, celebrations, expected wines to be sold, culinary specials, menu changes, and service expectations.
Adherence to Policies:
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Follow the Club’s policies and procedures, including those related to alcohol service.
Member Engagement:
  • Build rapport with Members by remembering their names and preferences but only addressing them by Mr./Mrs. (Surname).
  • Use every opportunity to exceed the expectations of the Membership and their Guest(s). You are empowered to speak with your manager if there is an opportunity to improve our system or service.
    • Share feedback from Members and Guests in real time with management and your team members. You are a huge part of their experience, and we want to recognize your efforts!
    • Speak positively about our App, and always gently remind Members how easy and efficient it is to use.

Position Title: Admin Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in supporting the smooth operations of the private golf club by handling administrative tasks, assisting with member billing, coordinating events, and collaborating with various departments. The ideal candidate will excel in multitasking and delivering excellent customer service.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

MONTHLY MEMBER BILLING
•    Prepare and distribute monthly Member statements accurately and on time.
•    Address member billing inquiries promptly and professionally.
•    Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliation tasks as needed.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
•    Organize and maintain filing systems, including member records and club documentation.
•    Prepare reports, memos, and other documents as required.
•    Upload and process invoices for Accounts Payable (AP), coding to the correct ledger.
•    Maintain website and app for The Avalon Club, updating regularly to reflect current promotions and marketing assets.

CONCIERGE
•    Manage correspondence, emails, and phone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
•    Conduct a daily check of voicemails on the Concierge line and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
•    Oversee administration email, ensuring any emails in the inbox are attended to as soon as possible.
•    Assist in booking reservations, tee times, small events, and item pick up/drop offs as necessary, through email and/or concierge phone.

EVENT COORDINATION
•    Assist in organizing and planning club events, tournaments, and meetings.
•    Communicate with vendors, Staff, and Members to ensure seamless event execution.
•    Maintain event calendars and send timely updates to relevant parties.

CLUB OPERATIONS COORDINATION
•    Serve as a liaison between departments to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
•    Monitor supply inventory and coordinate orders for office and club needs.
•    Support the Controller and COO in day-to-day operations.

MEMBER AND GUEST RELATIONS
•    Provide a warm and professional presence in the office and throughout the Club.
•    Assist with onboarding new Members and maintaining positive relationships with existing Members.
•    Address Member concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling Club information.
•    Contribute to the development of improved administrative processes and systems.
•    Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Club.

The Facility Person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the clubhouse, on-course washrooms, and various facilities within The Avalon Club. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a pristine environment for our Members and Guests, thereby contributing to an exceptional club experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate keen attention to detail, a proactive approach to facility maintenance, and a strong commitment to providing quality service.
 
CORE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, custodial work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to complete tasks.

On-Course Washrooms:

  • Duties: Sweep washrooms and sanitize all surfaces; restock supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, etc.); ensure facilities are consistently clean, well-maintained, and presentable for members and guests.
Clean Pro Shop
  • Frequency: Checked and cleaned daily
  • Duties: Dust, sweep, and wet swiffer the floors; ensure all displays and merchandise are tidy and well-organized.
Hospitality Tent
  • Frequency: As needed (check am/pm)
  • Duties: Ensure cleanliness and functionality of the hospitality tent; perform trash removal, vacuuming, and surface cleaning; check for any maintenance issues and report them promptly. Additionally, wash and maintain the cleanliness of all windows; ensure windows are free from streaks, marks, and smudges, providing a clear view and shining appearance.
Clean Clubhouse
  • Frequency: Checked and cleaned daily
  • Duties: Restock supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, etc.); ensure washrooms are consistently clean, well-maintained, and presentable for members and guests.

We are seeking a dedicated Greenskeeper to join our team and ensure the golf course remains in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the course's health and aesthetics through tasks such as mowing, watering, fertilizing, and managing pests. You will handle routine maintenance, including equipment upkeep and landscape care, to provide a high-quality playing experience.   • Assisting in cultural practices (hand watering, topdressing, aeration).
ORGANIZATIONAL
  • Daily cleaning of equipment and maintenance facility.
  • Daily inspection of equipment and machinery, before and after use.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
